We’ve got the down low on Sydney’s 5 best suburbs to live in, but how do you know you’ll be comfortable in your new area? Grab a meal, maybe a drink and suss out the local gems! Here are the top suburbs and some eateries we’ve coined that you HAVE to check out in them!
1. Manly- Daniel San (for the funkiest Japanese eats of your life)
I’m sure you would’ve tried some amazing Japanese places around Sydney, but have you ever been to a Japanese Rock ‘n’ Roll bar? Daniel San is an Okinawa inspired bar, it’s adventurous and energetic (they’ve even got a funky disco ball!). They even have an all-you-can-eat chicken wings deal on Wednesdays. How exciting right? To top it off you can end the night with a nice stroll by the beach!
2. Newtown- Gigi Pizzeria (for pizza that doesn’t need cheese but still tastes as incredible as ever #vegan)
Love a good pizza, but you’re not about the cheese or you have a vegan diet? Newtown’s Gigi Pizzeria is a plant based wood fire pizzeria, with traditional Italian flavours. Newtown has quickly become one of Sydney’s most vibrant and diverse suburbs with some unique places to grab a bite!
3. Balmain- Wilhelmina’s (modern European food in a bohemian-chic style café)
Balmain is a delightful suburb with heritage buildings and adorably restored cottages. Wilhelmina is one of many bars and restaurants you can find in Balmain. This place is great if you love your Australian Wines, as they have an extensive range of over 60 brands from across Australia. They even have monthly wine tastings (sign me up!), almost as if they’re bringing Hunter Valley down to us!
4. Glebe- Thievery (for modern Lebanese food in a dark lit, cosy fit out)
Did someone say brunch banquets with bottomless booze? It seems Thievery knows what we love! This cosy Lebanese restaurant is located in the heart of Glebe’s multicultural hub. Thievery can be your local kebab store or your go to Arabic home-cooked style eatery with its enticing menu and it will definitely shake up your perception of authentic Middle Eastern food!
5. Randwick- Del Punto (authentic Spanish food brimming with vibes)
You may have not expected Randwick to be in our top five locations, but surprisingly they sure do have some hidden gems. Del Punto brings a little taste of Barcelona with its vibrant tapas scene of the Barcelona streets. Perhaps you can even catch a movie at the Ritz across the road afterwards or enjoy the view at Coogee Beach which is only a few minutes away.
Most importantly, you need to organise financing before you purchase your home. So why don’t we join you at one of these fab spots, make merry and sort out your mortgage at the same time? After all, why make life so serious? Give us a call today!
